PAI, CP and LIBRA Hold Semestral Birthday Bash
Last 22 July, PowerAsia, Castle Power and Libra Agro honored 44 teammates by holding an afternoon soiree to simultaneously celebrate the natal days of those teammates whose birthdays fall in the first semester of the year (January to June). This has been a customary tradition established for several years now and a date that all teammates look forward to—birthday celebrators or not.
Top management sponsored the gifts and the generous servings of food and drinks to be feasted upon and commonly allocates 3pm to 5pm for the celebration to be held during work hours. On the other hand, the HRD team almost effortlessly spearheads the program preparation to include stimulating activities such as group Zumba dancing to open up the festivities, presentation of gifts, blowing of the cake for the celebrators and fixating parlor games to somehow bring out the “youth” in all of the employees present during the party.
This sort of workplace celebration translates gains that go far beyond the enjoyment of the party itself—be it held within the confines of the office or outside. Intangible rewards may be derived by understanding the benefits of PAI/CP/Libra celebrations that helps justify the spending of time and money on said events. For one thing, office celebrations give teammates the recognition for accomplishments and milestones in both business and their personal lives. Most people like to be recognized for their accomplishments and workplace celebrations provide a platform for presenting appreciation to show that management take a personal interest in teammates.
In addition, workplace celebrations bring teammates together for one (1) purpose: to conceive a sense of unity during a milestone and/or completion of a major project. Under a comfortable and an almost familial atmosphere, teammates get to know one another beyond their work that enables them to cooperate together better in future projects. Lastly, collective morale often gets a boost when teammates get a feeling of appreciation which equally improves their work attitude—as top management ventures to provide an enjoyable break from the monotonous routine of the workplace and causes priceless motivation.
